Through the burning of fossil fuels and the release of greenhouse gases into our atmosphere, we are warming our planet to untenable temperatures. People are already feeling the impacts of a changing climate, the poor most of all. We need to develop innovative plans for a carbon-neutral future if we are to stand a chance of limiting global temperature increase to 1.5°C and doing right by the world's impoverished. We need to advance climate-friendly solutions that reduce our emissions while simultaneously taking measures to more nimbly adapt to the sea level rises, melting snowpacks, extreme weather events and shifting seasons that are already challenging us.
