We are excited to announce the winner of the third week of our competition: Nathan Devine in Australia! Nathan told us about his goal to reduce waste sent to landfills globally and make his workplace more sustainable. Nathan, we will ship your new solar backpack to you within a few days!
Nathan's entry:
My name is Nathan Devine and I am social entrepreneur looking to make change by reducing landfill globally. It has been something that I have been passionate about from a young age. I hope to achieve this through my book "Retrash" which is a collection of ideas from around the world on how people are reducing landfill by reusing waste, upcycling and recycling. I have received hundreds of entries so far and have had strong positive support from the global community.
In my full time business which is a graphic design studio, I have taken great measures to ensure my business footprint is reduced. I have installed solar panels for reducing our electricity demands, hot water solar panels to further reduce energy consumption and I have printed all of our marketing material on recycled stock to close the recycling loop. I even encourage all of my clients to print their advertising material using recycled stock to help their businesses reduce their foot print.
Thank you to all of our entrants. We truly enjoyed hearing how you green your life, and we hope you will share more stories with us this week for a chance to win a Muse Portable DVD Player! If you're new to the competition, here's how to enter:
